The tools to do the job

The crewmembers of Hornsea Rescue have a range of vital equipment on hand to be able to support rescues both on land and out of the North Sea. Each piece of equipment has played its part in many rescues across the years, from our first rescue boat Charity Venture, to the more recent additions of the de-fibrillator and, thanks to a generous anonymous donation, our new boat which comes fitted with the latest in navigation and lifesaving aides.

As well as the tireless work to generate funds to ‘keep the boat afloat’ we are always aware of the need to improve our equipment as the challenges to preserve life grow. The distressing floods in 2007 and the tidal surge of 2013 made everyone aware of the devastating effects our ever changing climate can throw at us and we are proud to say that Hornsea Inshore Rescue are prepared and equipped to support any such eventuality in the future.
